Dovetail’s Nia Moses Becker to Present at: Women Owning and Appreciating Woodlands (WOAW) Weekend
The Michigan Forest Association will host its inaugural Women Owning and Appreciating Woodlands (WOAW) Weekend at Camp Greilick, a property managed by Grand Traverse County Parks and Recreation, this summer. From June 26–28, participants will explore forest management recommendations, ecological properties of Michigan ecosystems, and what it means to be a good forest steward through sessions led by a variety of natural resource professionals.
Among the featured presenters, Dovetail Associate Nia Moses Becker will lead a session titled Fire in our Forests.
The weekend is designed to cultivate learning, community, and fun while offering attendees the camaraderie of summer camp with other women who love and manage woodlands. Attendance is capped at 60 participants, meals will be provided, and limited on-site lodging is available at Camp Greilick.
Questions, comments, or dietary restrictions can be directed to MFA Outreach Forester Ellie Johnson at ellie.johnson@michiganforests.org or 989-285-2981.
