Dovetail’s Nia Moses Becker Attends Michigan Society of American Foresters Meeting

Nia attended the Michigan chapter meeting of the Society of American Foresters in Gaylord, MI. The two-day event brought together more than 200 participants for learning and networking focused on key issues affecting Michigan’s forests, including the impacts of the 2025 ice storm, prescribed fire certification updates, emerging urban forestry technologies, policy priorities, and reports from SAF National and student chapters, among other topics.
Founded in 1900, the Society of American Foresters was established to advance the science, education, technology, and professional practice of forestry. Today, it continues to play a central role in shaping forestry policy, supporting education, and promoting sustainable forest management across the United States.
