Dovetail Partners Welcomes Georgia-Pacific Research Interns

Immel and Wink  to address Sustainable Forestry and Wildfire Risk Mitigation projects

(Minneapolis, MN) - Dovetail Partners, a Minneapolis-based environmental think tank, is pleased to announce the selection of our Georgia-Pacific Research Interns, Steven Immel and Josh Wink. The positions are hosted by Dovetail Partners with the generous support of Georgia-Pacific. 

Steven Immel is the Georgia-Pacific Research Intern for Sustainable Forest Management and a recent graduate of Macalester College where he majored in Economics and minored in Environmental Studies. Immel will support research related to different dimensions of sustainable forestry, including assisting in a survey of forest managers to gain insights into experiences and knowledge related to logging/harvest operations and also engagement with county-forest managers. He will also engage with county-forest managers in Minnesota and Wisconsin to examine responsible community forest management in the Lake States.

The second position will provide project support for Fire Adapted Communities, Firewise activities, and wildfire risk mitigation in the Arrowhead region of Minnesota. Josh Wink is the Georgia-Pacific Research Intern for Fire Adapted Communities.  Wink is currently a senior at Macalester College, pursuing a double major in Environmental Studies and Classical Civilizations along with a minor in Geography.  He will be working with local communities in northern Minnesota to support the effectiveness of Community Wildfire Protection Plans.
