Dovetail Partners Welcomes Kathleen Preece as Associate
Preece brings expertise in communications and representing community voices in natural resource stewardship
(Minneapolis, MN) - Dovetail Partners, a Minneapolis-based environmental think tank, is pleased to announce the addition of Kathleen Preece as an Associate. Ms. Preece brings her experience in communications and writing to support community engagement and the amplification of diverse voices in natural resource stewardship. She is a forest owner in Minnesota and longtime leader in the forest sector through her service as Executive Director of the Minnesota Forest Resources Partnership (MFRP) and her Governor-appointed seat as a private landowner representative on the Minnesota Forest Resources Council (MFRC).She has also been instrumental in the formation and development of the Forest to Tap program that engages local breweries and taprooms in advocating for healthy forest and water connections.
“I am delighted to become part of a team that has become a cornerstone for innovative thinking and collaborative projects focused on land use and the environment! I sincerely look forward to hearing from the followers and readers of Dovetail to collaborate with me in narrating the stories about ‘who’ and ‘what’ makes our forests ‘tick’,” said Preece.
With her diverse experience in forests, forest products, and with the people that care for them, Preece will be contributing to Dovetail’s newsletter through a bi-monthly series that captures the “Heartbeat of the Forest”. The articles will highlight the ‘less-heard-of’ people and happenings that constitute the management, health, and sustainability of woodlands. Writings will include the details, nuances, and people who don’t always make it into the ‘big picture’ but are oftentimes the lifeblood of the state, national, and global scenes, particularly as those ‘scenes’ relate to local, state, and Midwest forests.
