Dovetail Partners Welcomes New Board Members in 2022

Expanded board delivers expertise in executive leadership, marketing, communications, and natural resource conservation.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN— Dovetail Partners, Inc. is pleased to welcome Kedren Dillard, Elizabeth Woodworth, and Paul DeLong to our Board of Directors in 2022.  The three new board members deliver exceptional insights from their respective fields and careers that include expertise in leadership for business development, marketing and communications, and multiple dimensions of natural resource conservation.

Kedren Dillard is Senior Vice President of Client Success at Shipley Associates. She is a skilled executive with leadership expertise in business development, sales, proposal management, and talent development and acquisition. Ms. Dillard is on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) and serves on boards of other national nonprofit entities. She currently leads Shipley’s Mid Atlantic operations in Sterling, Virginia, USA.

“My background includes work in diversity and inclusion, strategic partnerships, program management, talent acquisition and business development and in my forest sector leadership roles my primary focus has been in supporting carbon sustainability efforts, specifically as they relate to small, minority-owned, forest landowners,” says Dillard. “I believe in Dovetail’s mission and programming efforts. It will be an honor to serve as a board member and help advance the goals and objectives of the organization – specifically in the areas of sustainability and forestry.”

Elizabeth Woodworth is the Founder and CEO of Wood & Company Consulting, established in 2016 after more than 20 years working in marketing and communications.   An avid and practical environmentalist, Elizabeth holds a fundamental belief that efforts to improve our planet’s health are most successful when the interests of conservation, public, and private sectors intersect. During her career, Elizabeth has held positions in both for-profit and non-profit organizations, and has served on various organizations’ Boards. Her roles have included strategy, marketing, communications, and sustainability roles.

“I was first introduced to Dovetail when I entered the forest products sector in 2010 and Dovetail’s reports gave me a valuable crash course in straightforward, easy-to-understand language. I have used Dovetail’s research as a trusted resource for more than a decade now and have a deep respect for the organization’s mission and work,” says Woodworth. “As a Director, I will apply my expertise in sustainability strategy, communications, and implementation to contribute to Dovetail’s continued growth and success as one of the world’s premier think tanks focused on “the impacts and trade-offs of environmental decisions.”

Paul DeLong is the University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Extension’s Associate Dean of Policy, Operations, and Engagement, overseeing the administrative and outreach aspects of Extension’s organization. DeLong previously held positions at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources from 1992-2016, including bringing leadership and direction for the state agency as the Division Administrator and Chief State Forester. He was most recently the Senior Vice President of Conservation at the American Forest Foundation in Washington, D.C.

“I have long been an admirer and supporter of Dovetail, and valued being a contributor as a member of Dovetail’s former Board of Advisors,” says DeLong. “My investment in Dovetail has reflected my conviction that the organization fills an important niche in the environmental sphere, fostering robust dialogue and decision-making regarding the consequences of the myriad choices we face as consumers, organizations, and communities. This work is both important and much needed.”
