Panel to address forests and sustainability in the built environment

(Minneapolis, MN) - Join Dovetail Partners, a not-for-profit environmental think tank, at the International Mass Timber Conference from March 30 - April 1, 2021.  Kathryn Fernholz, President and CEO of Dovetail Partners, will moderate the panel entitled Connections from Forests to Buildings, the Many Paths for Sustainability on April 1.

The International Mass Timber Conference is the largest gathering of mass timber experts in the world and will be offered remotely in 2021. The conference attracts professionals from across the forest, manufacturing, design, development, and construction industries. 

The panel, Connections from Forests to Buildings, the Many Paths for Sustainability on Thursday, April 1 from 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM PDT, will be moderated by Fernholz and will include Kate Gatto, Vice President, Communications with the National Alliance of Forest Owners, and Thomas Robinson, Founding Principal for LEVER Architecture.  The panel will highlight diverse and dynamic approaches to providing social, environmental, and economic benefits through the use of wood products and mass timber. Speakers will highlight actions that are improving the connections between forest owners and forest product customers and broadening public understanding of how forest products, including mass timber, can address climate change and support rural communities. Building project examples and lessons learned will be shared to illustrate opportunities to connect to the forest, support local communities, meet environmental standards, and address inequities.

Attendees of the International Mass Timber Conference will benefit from 30+ expert presentations in four tracks with multiple sessions and keynotes to explore the supply chain for innovative mass timber products and the opportunities and obstacles for mass timber in global design, manufacturing, and construction.
