Join Dovetail Partners at the Partners in Community Forestry Conference

(Minneapolis, MN) - Join Dovetail Partners at the Partners in Community Forestry Conference in Cleveland, Ohio on November 20 and 21, 2019.  The event includes an indoor tour option addressing Urban Wood from Coast to Coast hosted by Dovetail Partners and the USDA Forest Service that will bring together urban wood interests from across the country.

The Partners in Community Forestry Conference is the largest international gathering of urban forestry practitioners, advocates, researchers, and government leaders. At this year’s conference, you will be among fellow attendees who are passionate about all things trees — from planting and tending to the latest research. Everyone comes together to share their best practices and find new ideas to bring home.

On November 20th there will be an afternoon session for urban wood partners. The session, Urban Wood from Coast to Coast will bring together representatives of cities, entrepreneurs and advocates who are leading a variety of initiatives to ensure that when urban trees are removed there are opportunities for the material to be put to good use and to avoid waste. Urban wood utilization includes use of materials coming from urban trees as well as from deconstruction activities. This interactive session will include information and project examples from Baltimore, Maryland; throughout California, and the Upper Midwest region. Participants are invited to bring information about their own efforts to support information exchange and insights into lessons learned.

Kathryn Fernholz, President/CEO of Dovetail Partners will be hosting the session with Sarah Hines, Urban Field Station Network Coordinator with the USDA Forest Service.
